Cosmic: CMS v2.0
Cosmic's Headless CMS is an internet-based implementation of headless software, which enables independence of the data (content) layer from any specific presentation layer. This modularity in data design and delivery allows for flexibility and portability, future-proofing content against obsolescence of any presentation layer.
It also allows content to be simultaneously integrated with different sources, making content accessible across different website architectures, internet services, and mobile devices. Cosmic’s Headless CMS additionally offers a robust programmatic and graphical user interface to build and manage headless content.
Summary
Cosmic has been in development and production for over six years. Over these years its been through evolutions and improvements, but the CEO (Tony Spiro) always felt it never quite hit its potential.
Tony approached me to look at the status quo and to think through some product evolution ideas that could be done as quick wins initially.
During the course of seeing my suggestions (and implementing some minor facelift work on the marketing homepage) he felt it was valuable that I be brought on board part-time to think through the entire product strategy and creative implementation.
As a designer who codes (and uses Cosmic daily... in fact this is all written in Cosmic's backend), Tony felt that I was a perfect and natural fit for evolving the design and user experience as I could test my ideas in our dev environment to see whether they felt right. As a customer, I could gut check a lot of my ideas ahead of alpha product testing.
